Peter O’Sullivan Photography

Hi, I'm Peter!

Since I first picked up a camera, I found that I have been drawn to landscape and wildlife photography because of how it connects me with nature. Photography gives me a sense of peace while I explore the mountains, forests, coastlines and wildlife around where I live or where I am lucky enough to visit.

Photography is my way of capturing special memories of places I visit. It also provides a means of sharing those feelings with others.

When I am not out enjoying what the Sunshine Coast has to offer, I am planning my next adventure with my partner. Capturing images through the use of light and composition will hopefully bring back fond memories of places that you have explored, or maybe inspire you to travel to create your own memories.

Thanks for stopping by to view my work.

My Top Three Favourite Places

Banff National Park Canada

Banff N.P. is a photographer's dream, offering iconic landscapes with world famous, turquoise, waters and dramatic mountain, backdrops. I could spend months there exploring with my camera.

Kenya

Kenya is a wildlife haven containing some of the most majestic and amazing animals you could ever wish to see. Being there up close was more incredible than we could have dreamed.

Iceland

If you ever get the chance, put Iceland on your bucket list to visit. Iceland has it all. Its natural beauty, majestic waterfalls, mind blowing canyons, glaciers, lava tunnels and volcanoes, are just some of the things to explore. This place is a photographers paradise and an adventurers playground.

What Photography Means To Me

Photography changed my life

Photography helps me look at the world in a different way. Because of photography, I notice shapes and patterns that nobody else seems to notice, and I want to photograph them! I seem to pick out leading lines, naturally occurring frames, symmetry and reflections in the landscape. I love taking panoramas and long exposures to help create a more unique or creative representation of what I am feeling.

I truly believe that photography helps me enjoy my surroundings more. It gives me a reason to be excited to explore my surroundings with my partner or by myself. I have a new appreciation for the beauty of the earth, and I love sharing that beauty with others through my photos. More than just an artistic outlet, photography has become a way for me to be present, mindful, and more deeply connected to the world around me.

My favourite Photo

I have a difficult time choosing my favourite photo. It is a similar task to choosing my favourite song, or favourite food. It's not easy.

I find that the photo that might be my favourite today will change by next month, and that is because I tend to get attached to the most recent photos I have taken. With that said, this photo is my favourite photo as it was my first time trying to take a panorama. I decided to check out Noosa National Park not knowing what I would find. After an hour of searching, mother nature decided to put on a this magnificant display. From this point, I knew I was hooked with this new hobby.

I wonder what my next favourite photo will be that I will be posting next month.

My Camera

I love my camera deeply—not just as a tool, but as a constant companion in my journey through life.

It's been with me across continents, capturing moments both grand and intimate, giving me the power to freeze time and tell stories through light and perspective. From quiet alleys in old towns to sweeping mountain vistas, it has helped me see the world more clearly and express the way I feel about it.
